Welcome to Hebrew Free Loan

Our Values - Respect, Compassion, Confidentiality

Since 1895, Hebrew Free Loan Association has been serving the Jewish community of Metropolitan Detroit by making short-term loans without interest to individuals that have no other means of help.

Through donations from generous individuals, Hebrew Free Loan Association assists with helping men and women achieve financial independence.  Our loans enable members of the Jewish community to go to college, adopt children, establish businesses, enjoy a summer camp experience, celebrate weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs or help with an emergency that arises.

The tradition of free loan philanthropy has been one of the building blocks of Jewish life in Detroit.  At Hebrew Free Loan Association, every person finds understanding, equality of treatment, and the sincere desire to be helped in a time of need.  Loans are always treated in a confidential manner.

Your Financial Support is Welcome...

Hebrew Free Loan is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization participating in community outreach and fundraising; including direct mail, in-person contact, advertising, special events and membership campaigns. There are many ways to support our important service to people in need… through our Friends annual giving campaign, the major capital loan campaign, tributes, general donations, endowments and named funds.
